21st Jul 2017

TJ International’s Digital Performance Manager, Richard Davison, joined 24 others in completing the Three Peaks Challenge.

On the 30th of June the team set themselves the goal of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowden) in 24 hours. This was all to raise money for The Children’s Hospice South West. So far they’ve raised a huge £1,428 for this local charity, which helps support over 400 families in the region. The 24 hour trek was organised by members of the Royal Cornwall Hospital x-ray unit, who invited Richard to join them. Richard individually raised an impressive £400 and is still receiving donations. The RCH participants voted The Children’s Hospice South West as the chosen charity. They also decided to bring along their department mascot, X-Ray Pig (see below).

Climbing Ben Nevis

They battled fog, fatigue, and dangerous cliff faces throughout the journey, but eventually reached the end. To climb any of these mountains is a task in itself, but to do all three within the time frame of 24 hours is a huge accomplishment. The team are still accepting donations and you can show your support over on their Just Giving page. A huge congratulations to Richard and the staff at Royal Cornwall Hospital for achieving this mammoth challenge!
