About Us

TJ International specialises in the manufacture of quality books. As a multi-award winning business, we strive to enhance publishers reputations and brands by producing high-quality products.

We began operations in 1969 in London as TJ Press (Camberwell) Ltd. Tom Jacques, the company founder, ran the business with two printing presses – one for posters, one for comics – and six staff. Business growth dictated TJ’s move to the South West with relocation to Padstow in 1973. 7 years later TJ built its own bindery becoming a fully integrated book manufacturing company. In 1995 a new purpose built factory was built to allow for TJ’s further growth. In 1998 the company started printing books digitally. In 2011 we introduced print-on-demand book production and in 2014 we brought colour reproduction in-house.

At present, our purpose-built manufacturing plant employs highly trained individuals, who as a team produce over 7 million books a year for a diverse range of publishers. With ISO accreditations governing our procedures, we take pride in delivering an end product that reflects our environmental commitment and drive to exceed our client’s quality expectations.

We recognise that our values, behaviours and operational responsibilities have a wider context and we recognise our obligations to our stakeholders. To put this commitment into practice we have a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy in place.
